Stubbylee Community Greenhouses is a charitable trust which was established in 2004. We are based in between the beautiful parks of Stubbylee and Moorlands in Bacup, Rossendale. Our projects provide an open access, therapeutic environment in which individuals can learn, grow and connect with others.

The Gardens
SCG is based on land owned by Rossendale BC. Previously the base for the parks department, we have 4 large greenhouses, a workshop, a converted polytunnel and offices. Our growing spaces are tended by a large team of committed volunteers who produce organically grown food for our café…

The Stables Cafe
Open all year round, The Stables Café is situated next to the Greenhouses. Chef and manager, Malcolm Clark has developed a delicious seasonal menu and daily home cooked specials using ingredients grown at the Greenhouses. Our volunteers also bake up tasty cakes and treats.

How we help
The core ethos for all project work is to provide holistic support for individuals in our community who are facing difficulties with their mental, emotional or physical well-being. We also provide advice and guidance in welfare, finance and debt. All the services we provide are open access, free of charge and person centered.
