Stubbylee Community Greenhouses

We aim to support people to grow their own ……good stories.

About

Stubbylee Community Greenhouses is an award winning community focused project based between the beautiful parks of Stubbylee and Moorlands in the Rossendale valley . It is a hidden gem with a thriving community who work together as a team to improve the health and well being of people from all walks of life.

Our Charity “The Bacup Consortium Trust” was set up in 2005 by a group of local residents who wanted to improve the quality of the local environment and create a community asset within the council’s park facilities.

Over time our organisation has grown into a leading Health and Wellbeing hub thanks to the support from major funders : The National Lottery Reaching Communities, The Tudor Trust, The Manchester Dioses Community Fund, Awards For All, Santander Community Fund , D’Oyly Carte Community Fund and Garfield Weston.

With the guidence of our trustees and long term partnerships, we have worked hard to create a sustainable economic model which ensures that the vital services and activities we provide are here for the people who need it for the long term.

Our mode of work is holistic, encompassing delivery partners from across education, primary and secondary health care, social services, local business and third sector.

All this within a passionate approach to nature and the environment.

We really do grow good stories.

Our Ethos is : For all participants to help each other to create a calm safe place where we can thrive.

Our Charity’s mission is to reduce barriers and challenges for individuals who are marginalised and isolated within a socially dynamic, ecological framework.
